Loïc Herin
Photographer
Hailing from Geneva, Switzerland, with an Italian father and a Brazilian mother, Loïc was born on July 18, 1991. His journey into photography began during a gap year at 17, when he joined his father in Brazil, where he worked in tourism in the Amazon. Participating in a multi-day tour with a singer and their film crew, he got hands-on experience in photography. The pivotal moment came when the cameraman offered to sell him his Nikon D90, marking his official entry into the world of photography in 2008. He pursued formal education at Collège de Candolle in Geneva, completing his maturité in 2012, and earning a CFC Photo diploma from CEPV in Vevey in 2015.
His photography style is best described as the narrative of his travels and encounters, with a deep connection to documentary photography. While he hasn’t been published or exhibited, he has been working as a professional photographer since 2019, having started his photographic journey in 2008. He embraced film photography in 2010 and medium format in 2016. If he were to collaborate with a renowned artist, it would be with the director Ron Fricke.
