Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, Laurent Chiu has always had a passion for visual storytelling. His journey into photography began in 2009 when he purchased his first camera, a Diana, drawn by the distinctive quality of its images. This initial step into photography sparked a deep interest that evolved alongside his formal studies.
Laurent pursued a dual education in graphic design, balancing academic coursework with hands-on experience in a professional setting. During this time, he immersed himself in the technical aspects of photography, benefiting from specialized courses that enriched his understanding and shaped his creative eye. His background in graphic design accentuated his artistic sensibilities and provided a solid foundation in visual composition and aesthetics.
After several years of working independently as a graphic designer, Laurent decided in 2019 to fully embrace his passion for photography, shifting his focus to fashion and portrait work. His photographic style is characterized by a keen sense of movement and spontaneity, capturing moments with authenticity and emotion. Laurent’s work reflects his dedication to portraying the dynamism and beauty of the human form.
